ealth care as we know it is a wreck, and health insurance as we know it is a wreck. I've been a big proponent and not everyone in my industry was happy to hear me talk about this, but I started by saying that the only way this is going to be fixed is through the power of the consumer, and transparency around prices and quality so they can have a chance to get a better deal.
Now, what's currently being worked on, they are changes; they're not going to fix the system. There's no real cost savings coming from all that. It's shameful for a country like this to have 46 million people outside the coverage system, and it has to be dealt with.”
Mike McCallister, Chief Executive of Humana Inc. |
